Someone recently asked me this question. Here are a few that immediately came to mind…

The very first embryos I purchased came from Clover Mist Farms in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. They were from Augys Rose Regal Red EX-90, a direct daughter of the famous « White Cow, » D-R-A August EX-96.

Later, we flushed Clover Mist Augystar RC EX-94 by Prelude. From this mating came Clover Mist Alisha RC EX-93 and several full sisters that were exported to Europe, along with other offspring by Prelude and different sires. During the 1998 Clover Mist Sale, Augystar and Alisha were sold to Kamps-Hollow, where Kamps-Hollow Durham Altitude EX-95 was later bred.

From Sellcrest No Rachel Red EX-94, a granddaughter of Augys Rose Regal Red, we purchased Talent embryos that resulted in the breeding of A-L-H Talent Rose Red.

From Buckhorn Acres SRose Red EX-92, a great-granddaughter of Augys Rose Regal Red, we obtained several Advent Red embryos. These produced, among others, Zeedieker Advent Srose Red VG-88, with numerous descendants in Spain and the United Kingdom, and Advent Roseanna Red EX-93, who was crowned Senior Champion and Grand Champion at the Holland Holstein Show in 2014 and again Grand Champion in 2016.

From Kamps-Hollow Durham Altitude EX-95, we purchased embryos by several different sires. These resulted in outstanding offspring, including Jotan Red—after Sunny Boy, the bull with the highest number of Excellent daughters in the Netherlands—and G.N. Altitude Red 0762 VG-89, a Lichtblick Red daughter of Altitude that, as of May 2026, is over 18 years old and still alive.

The Apple family continues to excel today. One recent example is Heerenbrink Angelina EX-94, with Apple Red as her third dam, who was crowned Grand Champion at the Holland Holstein Show three times: in 2022, 2023, and 2025.
