Texas Longhorn

Texas Longhorn is a cattle breed from the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is the breed that was driven northeast by cowboys along long trails from Texas at the end of the nineteenth century to be sold as cattle for slaughter.
The most important characteristic of the Texas Longhorn are the wide, outstanding horns. All kinds of color shades occur, ranging from brown, black, white, red, yellow, gray-blue, spotted, variegated, speckled and even striped. Even in colour, bicoloured and even tricoloured occur. The average height at the withers of a bull is 130 cm, of a cow 120 cm. The weight of a bull is on average 600 kg and of a cow between 350 and 400 kg.
